first picked up the guitar just after my 16th birthday thinking, Brain
May, James Hetfield, Billy Joe...i'll give that try. I carried on for
about five minutes before putting down my dads left handed electric and
deciding it wasn't for me.
Just about a year later I bought off a friend my first right handed electric guitar, a black and white Fender Squire Strat. It had been his uncle's guitar for about 15 years before and he got it second, it was well worn in. Whilst playing it I could just imagine Woodstock on their feet to Jimmy, or in my case, alone in my room playing the James Bond theme on one string.
It didn't seem to matter to me though and before long a group with some mates at college was formed called C.J.D. Then we went off to university where I carried on playing, still loving the style of Green Day guitarist Billy Joe Armstrong and Metallica main man James Hetfield.
