That’s
when I got more into vinyl. I was brought up on a heady mix of my elder
brothers’ Sex Pistols albums blaring out in the back room and
my Mum turning up the volume every time she played The King in the front
room.
This wonderful experience led me to appreciate all styles of music but
the NWOBHM scene will always be close to my heart. I was never happier
in my youth than getting hammered for the weekend at Castle Donington’s
Monsters of Rock. I
still haven’t heard anything better than the songwriting ability
and musical diversity of G n R’s Appetite For Destruction.
